Positioning

Why not Zivver, or your firm portal?

Secure email protects how a document travels. Boekhoudery is where it lives. Firm portals do everything and take weeks. We do one job on your phone in five minutes.

Secure email

Most Dutch firms use Zivver, Smartlockr, FileCap or Cryptshare — not a portal.

  • Zivver, Smartlockr, FileCap and Cryptshare. Secure the send: usually Outlook, a protected link, the file arrives. Then it sits in the inbox, and in filing season you search for it again.

Boekhoudery is a per-client file: chat and documents in one place. Not a way to mail. If Outlook plus secure mail is enough, choose Zivver or a peer.

Dutch firm portals

Closest competitors: Mijn Kantoor, Visma PinkWeb, Nextens.

  • Mijn Kantoor. CRM, workflows, dossiers, chat linked to the client, signing and approval, web plus app. Built by accountants for accountants — a real strength we cannot match. Comes with an implementation.
  • Visma PinkWeb. Share, request and sign documents; links to accounting software; web portal with a mobile app; onboarding with guidance.
  • Nextens client portal. Personal page next to the tax software: documents, checklists, approve returns; files land in the Nextens dossier.

TaxDome is the broad practice-management suite in the same bucket — choose it if you need that breadth.

Desktop web with an app beside it, plus an implementation. Boekhoudery is built for the phone, no setup: chat and documents per client, live in minutes. No CRM, no e-signing, no workflows. If you want the broader firm platform, choose them.

The portal in your package

The most common objection: we already use Exact or Yuki.

  • Exact Mijn[Kantoor]. Collaboration inside Exact Online Accountancy: submit files, chat in context, approve, see figures under your firm name.
  • Yuki. Not a separate portal. Communication sits on the source document inside the books.

If Exact or Yuki already works for you, that is the right choice. We are for firms on Moneybird, e-Boekhouden, Jortt, or no package — where nothing usable is bundled.

Boekhoudery is built for

  • Solo bookkeepers and 1–5 person firms
  • Firms without a usable portal in their package
  • Replacing WhatsApp or loose email without a portal project
  • A per-client file on the phone, live in minutes, EU hosting

Choose someone else if

  • Exact or Yuki’s portal already works for you
  • You only need secure mail from Outlook (Zivver, Smartlockr, FileCap, Cryptshare)
  • You need CRM, e-signing, workflows, time tracking, invoicing, or a full DMS
  • You accept an implementation and training project

FAQ about choosing

Why not just Zivver?

Zivver secures how a document travels. It still lands in your inbox. Boekhoudery is where it lives: a per-client file. If Outlook plus secure mail is enough, choose Zivver.

I already use Exact or Yuki — why Boekhoudery?

If the built-in portal works for you, that is the right choice. We are for firms without that — often Moneybird, e-Boekhouden, Jortt, or no package.

Does Boekhoudery replace my accounting software?

No. Keep Exact, Yuki, Nextens, Moneybird or whatever you use for the books. We only handle secure client chat and documents beside it.
